Where can I book a wine tasting near Porto?
At Sapateiro Boutique Winery, a family winery in Tabuado, Marco de Canaveses, in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, about an hour from Porto. You can book by WhatsApp, by phone, by email or with the booking request form on this page.
What wine tasting experiences does Sapateiro offer?
We offer three tastings: the Essential Wine Tasting, the Cheeseboard Wine Tasting and Silvi’s Tapas Wine Tasting, all led by the winemaker himself. For groups, we also offer the Group Wine Tasting Experience, a private tasting tailored to your group.
Who leads the wine tastings at Sapateiro?
Every wine tasting is led by the winemaker himself, Tiago Soares, who crafts our boutique wines from hand-picked native grape varieties on the family estate.
How much does a wine tasting at Sapateiro cost?
The Essential Wine Tasting costs €20 per person, the Cheeseboard Wine Tasting €30 per person and Silvi’s Tapas Wine Tasting €40 per person. The Group Wine Tasting Experience costs €40 per person.
What is included in the Essential Wine Tasting?
The Essential Wine Tasting lasts 90 minutes. It includes a walk-through of how Sapateiro started, the wine region and the winery, followed by a tasting of 4 or 5 wines: white, red and rosé. There is no meal, but we serve crackers, bread, olive oil and nuts.
What food is included in the Cheeseboard Wine Tasting?
A board of cheeses with charcuterie, fruits, nuts, bread, olive oil and water. The tasting lasts 2 hours and includes a tour of the winery with the winemaker and a tasting of white, red and rosé wines.
What happens during Silvi’s Tapas Wine Tasting?
Over 2 hours 30 minutes, you learn about our history and the wine region, tour the winery to see how our wines are made and bottled, and then enjoy five homemade Portuguese tapas, each paired with one of our wines. Coffee is included.
Can I arrange a private group wine tasting?
Yes. The Group Wine Tasting Experience is a private tasting tailored to your group, for birthdays, corporate events, pre-wedding gatherings, reunions or special occasions. It costs €40 per person and includes a winery tour, five Portuguese-cooked tapas each paired with a unique wine, and coffee.
