From our family in Portugal to your table
Many wine subscriptions bring together bottles from many different producers. The Sapateiro Wine Club is one family, one estate and one winemaker.

One family, one estate
Every bottle comes from our family’s five-hectare estate in Tabuado, in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, made from hand-picked native grape varieties.

A winemaker who writes to you
Tiago makes the wines, can choose your case for you, and writes to you every month about the harvest, the barrels and what’s coming.

Vinho Verde, beyond what you know
Vinho Verde is often known as a light, fizzy white. Our range goes further: barrel-aged Reservas, a red Vinhão, a rosé, an orange wine and the WANTED series.

Small batches, numbered bottles
Around 25,000 bottles a year across around ten wines, and every bottle individually numbered. Some wines are made in runs of only a few hundred bottles.

Your name in Portugal
Founding Barrel Patrons have their name on a barrel plaque in our cellar, and every member joins the Hall of Fame on our members’ wall.

A reason to visit
We are about an hour from Porto. When you come, your tasting is 2-for-1, and it is led by the winemaker himself.

What is the Sapateiro Wine Club?
The Sapateiro Wine Club is our membership for wine lovers in the United States and Canada. For €400 per year, members choose 12 bottles from our family winery in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, with free shipping, plus first access to The Wanted wines and limited releases, a monthly message from Tiago, our winemaker, and a 2-for-1 tasting at the winery.
How is the Sapateiro Wine Club different from other wine subscriptions?
It is one family winery, not a selection from many producers. Every bottle comes from our estate in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, Tiago, our winemaker, can choose your case and writes to you every month, and the first 8 members have their name on a barrel in our cellar.
How much does the Wine Club cost?

Who can join the Wine Club?

Can I choose my wines?
Yes. You choose 12 bottles from our range, or Tiago, our winemaker, selects them for you. You can add at least one of The Wanted wines (The Captain, The Cook, The Gunner) to your case if you wish.
When will my wines arrive?
We ship in early November.

What is a Founding Barrel Patron?
The first 8 members become Founding Barrel Patrons: their name goes on a barrel plaque in our cellar, and they receive a certificate and a photo of their barrel. There are two names per barrel and four barrels, and spots go in order of enrollment.
What is the Hall of Fame?
Every member’s name appears on the Sapateiro members’ wall.
What is the Right Case Guarantee?
You receive exactly the wines you chose, or you get 100% of your money back.
What is the 2-for-1 tasting?
Members enjoy a 2-for-1 tasting the next time they visit us in Portugal. Our wine tastings are led by the winemaker himself, and all our experiences must be booked in advance.
What is Vinho Verde?
Vinho Verde is a wine region in northwest Portugal. Our estate is in Tabuado, Marco de Canaveses, within the region, and our range includes whites, reds, a rosé and an orange wine.
